Tennis Australia has officially released the schedule for the 2021 summer of tennis with an exciting week of tournaments preceding the Australian Open for the season.
According to the schedule, there will be four individual and one team tournament – the ATP Cup – played in the lead-up to the Australian Open.
These tournaments will then be followed by the year’s first Grand Slam while another WTA tournament will run in parallel with the Australian Open.

This Australian Open series of tournaments will begin from January 31, and will see two WTA 500 and two ATP 250 tournaments played just before the opening major. The ATP Cup will be hosted at the Melbourne Park and will consist of 12 teams divided into four groups of three apiece.
The top-placed country from each of those four groups will then make it to the semifinal at the ATP Cup.
The last tournament to be played in this series will be held in the second week of the Australian Open and will be a part of the WTA 250 series. This competition begins on February 13.

All of these tournaments will be held in Melbourne, with the men’s and women’s qualifying for the Australian Open to be hosted in Doha and Dubai respectively.
Other than this, there will be a couple of junior ITF events in the first couple of weeks of January, and a wheelchair competition in the second week of February organised by Tennis Australia.

- January 4-10: ITF World Tennis Tour Junior – Grade 5, Traralgon
- January 11-17: ITF World Tennis Tour Junior – Grade 4, Traralgon
- January 10-13: Australian Open Qualifying for Men, Doha
- January 10-13: Australian Open Qualifying for Women, Dubai
- January 31-February 6: 2 x WTA 500, 2 x ATP 250, Melbourne Park
- February 1-5: ATP Cup 2021, Melbourne Park
- February 3-6: Victorian Wheelchair Tennis Open, Hume Tennis Centre
- February 8-21: Australian Open, Melbourne Park
- February 8-11: Melbourne Wheelchair Tennis Open, Hume Tennis Centre
- February 13-19: WTA 250, Melbourne Park
