Nick Kyrgios v Harry Bourchier Head to Head
The two have never faced each other in a competitive match before. This will be the first-ever encounter between the two 25-year-old Australians.

Muller Almost Serves Kyrgios An Upset
What seemed like a previously anticipated routine win for Kyrgios turned to a really close affair. Kyrgios was facing Alexandre Muller in the first round of the Murray River Open, a player ranked 209 on the ATP rankings who’d come into the match priced at 6/1.
Despite the massive discrepancy in their rankings, the Australian was forced to stage a comeback after losing the first set.
The Frenchman was great value for that first-set upset, especially since he held Kyrgios to no break points and ensured that all three of Kyrgios’ second serve points went his way.
Muller also capitalized on the single break point that he got, which came in the first set’s penultimate game, guaranteeing that his heroics in that set gave him a shock 1-0 lead heading into the second set.
Kyrgios came back in the second set. Eight aces and 2/5 converted break points from the Australian meant that the match needed a deciding set. The third set proved to be an even more competitive affair, with both players restricting each other to 0 break points, meaning that a tiebreak was required.
Kyrgios’ experience and resilience helped him win the tiebreak 7-4, gifting his progression to the tournament’s second round.

Bourchier Stuns Polmans
Bourchier, making his ATP main draw debut after coming in as a late alternate, stunned countryman Marc Polmans in the first round by defeating him in straight sets.
Polmans had come in as a 2/5 favorite but immediately forfeited his favorite’s status after a slow start. Bourchier matched his rallies and was great in returning Polmans’ serves, which helped him win more than 50% of Polmans’ second serve points.
He also gave Polmans no break point opportunities in the first set and converted the single break point that came his way in that set to claim it 6-4.
The second set was a more competitive affair from the onset.
Polmans got five break points early on in the set but Bourchier impressively managed to rescue all of them. Additionally, Bourchier only got one break point in that set. He managed to convert it, and that proved decisive in giving him the set and the match ultimately.
He’ll now play in his first-ever second-round ATP main draw match.
Kyrgios v Bourchier Prediction and Tip
After a close first-round encounter, Kyrgios should have an easier tie this time around. Expect him to avoid the mistakes that he made early on against Muller and control the match from the onset.
Tip: Kyrgios to win in straight sets: 2/5 (bet365)
