Jennifer Brady v Madison Brengle Head to Head

Their only previous match came at the Indian Wells $125k competition of 2019 and Brady won that 6-3, 6-1 to make the second round.

Brady Bounces Out Bolsova

With a US Open semifinal and a maiden WTA title under her belt from the previous season, Brady would have felt rather good about her game coming into 2021. While she didn’t start off as brilliantly, losing in the first round at the Abu Dhabi Open, the American came back strongly to go all the way to the semifinal in her Melbourne tune-up tournament.

And even in that defeat to Ann Li there, the fight never waned, as Brady took that match to the third set, match tie-breaker.

That confidence showed in her win over Aliona Bolsova in the first round here. The match barely lasted an hour, and Brady cruised through to a 6-1, 6-3 victory, the American facing not a single break-point in the entire encounter.

Where Brady scored over her opponent was her unforced errors, just 13, as opposed to the 32 from the racquet of Bolsova. What Brady would now like is to improve her first serve percentage and grow even more into her rhythm to start unleashing those powerful winners.

Brengle Rams Easy Win over Rodionova

Much like Brady, Brengle did not have too many difficulties in getting past Arina Rodionova in her first round match. Brengle registered a 6-1, 6-2 victory in an hour and two minutes, as she never allowed her lower-ranked opponent to settle into her game.

Brengle got off to a solid start by breaking Rodionova in the very first game and then proceeded to repeat the dose in the sixth game of the opening set. The first set pouched, the American then grabbed the first three games of the second, before getting broken for the first time, against the run of play.

There was another exchange of breaks soon after but with Rodinova losing her serve yet again, Brengle served out the match with ease.

Earlier last week, Brengle had crashed out of the Yarra Valley Classic in Melbourne in the first round, losing to Anastasija Sevastova.

Brady v Brengle Prediction and Tip

Brady’s solid form puts her in with a very good chance of taking her opponent out in straight sets.

Tip: Brady to win in straight sets: 1/2 (bet365)
