Fiona Ferro v Magdalena Frech Head to Head
The pair have met twice before; both matches were in 2016 on the ITF circuit. Frech won in Daytona Beach but Ferro got her revenge in Bukfordo, Hungary.

Ferro Back on Home Soil
Ferro won her second WTA title in Palermo last year, and went on to reach the fourth round of the French Open before losing in three sets to Sofia Kenin.
That was her last event of 2020, and she resumed her competitive activity in Melbourne, losing in the first round of the Yarra Valley Classic warm-up event, before turning her attention to the Australian Open.
She began her campaign with a some from behind win over Katerina Siniokova of the Czech Republic.
Then she had an impressive win over the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the world 23, in straight sets.
However, her run was ended by another Pole, Iga Swiatek, the French Open champion.
It was not a high quality match, littered with unforced errors and dropped service games, but Swiatek proved to be the more consistent of the two, and won in straight sets.
Frech, A Polish Qualifier
Frech has won four ITF titles, and has been ranked as high as 115 in the world, although she is not at that level now and, like all Polish players, her achievements have been eclipsed by the exploits of Swiatek.
She has made the main draw of Grand Slam events three times, with her best year coming in 2018, when she reached the first round in Melbourne and the second in Paris, after qualifying for both events.
However, she has not been in a Grand Slam main draw since 2019.
Her best result last year came in Prague where she came through qualifying to make the third round before eventually losing to Simona Halep.
She chose not to enter the qualifying for the Australian Open but elected to stay in Europe on the ITF tour.
However, she did enter the qualifying event for Lyon, where she thrashed Olga Danilova of Serbia in the first round, before then overcoming the challenge of Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria, a women ranked 22 places than her in the world.
Ferro v Frech Prediction & Tip
Although their head to head record stands at one match apiece, their career trajectories have differed since those 2016 matches. Ferro should win easily.
