Soon Woo Kwon v Ilya Ivashka Head to Head
Only two previous matches have been played between these two, both of which came in 2019 and it’s 1-1 on head to head so far. The first was played in the qualifying rounds of the Atlanta Open which Kwon won before Ivashka levelled things out in the Montreal Masters later that season.

Kwon Showing Spark Recently
Since moving from the Australian Open to the indoor courts of Biella, Singapore and Nur-Sultan where he played on the ATP and Challenger circuit, Kwon has shown bit of a turnaround in form.
It started with his performance at the Biella Challenger where Kwon started out as a favourite and dropped just one set in the entire tournament to win his third Challenger title.
A strong showing at the ATP Singapore followed soon after where he reached the quarterfinal before falling to Marin Cilic. A week later in Nur-Sultan, he featured in a Challenger competition as a top seed but then lost in the last-eight stage yet again.
The 23-year-old, as a result of these performances, has improved to 79th in the world which is just 10 places away from his career-best ranking. Having never featured at the Miami Masters before this, this first round appearance should help gain a few points but more importantly, a win here would boost his confidence even more.

Ivashka Yet to Win This Year
Having made the quarterfinal of the Pune Open last season and then having entered the second round in St. Petersburg, Ivashka turned his focus towards playing a lot more on the Challenger circuit in 2020.
And it looked to have been a good call as the Belarusian went on to win two Challenger titles towards the second half of the season – Istanbul and Ortisei Challenger -and reached the semifinal of a third.
Unfortunately for Ivashka, that hasn’t quite led to the kind of start that Ivashka would have liked this season. He has managed to participate in only two tournaments so far – at the Australian Open and the Biella Challenger – and lost in the first round of both.
With virtually no tennis under his belt and form seemingly an issue, Ivashka could have it tough here.
Kwon v Ivashka Prediction and Tip
Kwon is 4/9 to win this but it won’t be without a fight and we believe Ivashka could actually win a set or more here.
Tip: Ivashka to win a set – Yes: 4/6 (bet365)
