Milos Raonic v Ugo Humbert Head to Head
Raonic won the pair’s only meeting in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters in 2020. He fought back from a 2-5 deficit in third set tiebreak, and then saved a couple of match points to win a dramatic breaker 9-7.

Raonic Has Three QF Showings In Miami
Milos Raonic has been playing at the Miami Masters since 2011. In the absences of the Big Three this year, and many of the top names, he remains one of the few veterans left in the singles competition in southeastern Florida.
In his nine previous visits to the Miami Masters, he has only ever failed to win his second round match once, and which came in his tournament debut.
The Canadian maintained that near-perfect record with a straight sets demolition of Australia’s Jordan Thompson for the loss of three games.
Raonic dropped just three points behind his monstrous first serve (32/35), and did not face a single break point throughout the 59-minute contest. His return points won were equally impressive, winning 25 out of 46 as the Australian was left in awe at the brutal hitting from the 30-year-old’s racket.
In his post match interview, the three-time Miami quarterfinalist admitted he picked up an injury in the aftermath of his fourth round defeat to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open. And perhaps he did not give himself enough time to recover as he rushed to play the Mexican Open last week where he fell to a shock second round defeat to Dominik Koepfer.

Humbert Records Straight-Set Win
While Raonic has been an ever-present at the Miami Masters, Ugo Humbert’s only previous participation came in 2019 when the tournament relocated to the Hard Rock Stadium. At the time he was beaten in three sets by Mackenzie McDonald.
But the 2019 season was Humbert’s breakthrough year on the main tour. He re-entered the world’s top 100 and has never left it again. He won three Challenger titles and reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first and thus far only time at Wimbledon.
It was a platform that launched Humbert’s career on the main tour where he has been France’s most consistent player, and ranks as his country’s no.2 behind Gael Monfils whose form has gone awry since tennis’ resumption last August.
Humbert picked up his maiden win at the Miami Masters, beating Portugal’s Joao Sousa 6-1 6-4, without dropping a service game. With the win, he breaks the tied win/loss record, and is now 6-5 for the season.
Raonic v Humbert Prediction and Tip
Raonic and Humbert were near-perfect in their second round matches. Dominant on serve, and clutch in converting their break point chances. Backing the games market is a no-brainer here and with a possible tiebreak set.
Tip: Over 22.5 games: 5/6 (bet365)
