Novak Djokovic v Stefanos Tsitsipas Head to Head
There have been six previous meetings between these two players and Djokovic leads 4-2. On clay, they have played each other twice and Djokovic had won both times.
This included their last meeting at the French Open last year where Djokovic nearly blew away a two-set lead but then went on to win in five to enter the final.

Djokovic Storms into Rome Quarters
If there were any doubts about Djokovic’s recent form, those seemed to have been sent packing with a performance to remember from the world number one.
Djokovic registered a crushing 6-2, 6-1 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina with the world number one using up just an hour and 11 minutes to come through. He slammed four aces and won 70% of his first serve points to carve out a win.
Interestingly, the match began with the two players exchanging a break of serve before they held once apiece to make it 2-2. From that point on, Djokovic won 10 of the next 11 games to rout his Spanish opponent.
The Serb had earlier registered a straight-set win over Taylor Fritz but not before he had thrown a tantrum at the chair umpire. That could have stemmed from the fact Djokovic has had bit of a struggle on his hands on clay with early defeats in both, Belgrade and Monte-Carlo stalling his progress.
Can he now get past an opponent who has recently reached a clay-court final?

Tsitsipas Gets the Better of Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini was expected to prove to be a solid test for Tsitsipas given his record on clay this season but the world number five managed to tame him in straight sets to make it to the quarterfinals.
In little over an hour and a half, Tsitsipas registered a 7-6 (3), 6-2 win over Berrettini to set up a meeting with the world number one.
And while Tsitsipas was stretched to a tie-breaker in the first set, his serve was rarely under the pump, losing a mere six points on it throughout the set. He didn’t face any break-points and then steamrolled his opponent in the tie-breaker.
An early break of serve in the second set for Tsitsipas was followed by the Greek player facing his first two break-points in the next game but he saved both. And from there on, it was back to some brilliant serving and another break of serve soon followed before he served it out to love.
Tsitsipas, who was a semifinalist in 2019, had earlier blitzed past Marin Cilic in the second round having received a bye in his opener. He is 12-2 on clay this year.
Djokovic v Tsitsipas Prediction and Tip
Djokovic is a favourite, and as a number one player in the world you would expect that but his recent form on clay allows Tsitsipas a look-in at 11/10. We would still have the Serb edging this one though and odds of 8/11 are quite tempting to be honest against a non-Nadal player.
