Pablo Andujar v Federico Delbonis Head to Head
The pair have met four times before, and Andujar leads their head-to-head series by three matches to one.
All those matches have been on clay, with Andujar winning the first three matches – in Monte Carlo in 2012, in Buenos Aires in 2014 and in Marrakech five years later, and Delbonis winning their most recent encounter in Sardinia last year.

Andujar Knocks Out Thiem
Andujar produced the biggest shock of this year’s tournament to date by knocking out the world number four Dominic Thiem, the reigning US Open Champion and twice beaten finalist in Paris, in his first round match..
And he did it the hard way to, coming from two sets down.
The Spaniard began badly, dropping his opening service game, and, despite break points for both men, the rest of the firsts et went with serve.
The second set was less predictable and the pair swapped service breaks, and then again, but in the middle of that sequence, Thiem forced another break and, at that stage seemed in complete control of the match.
The third set again went with serve, but then, in the ninth game, Andujar created a break point and duly converted it.
Thiem had a chance to break back, could not take it, and that proved to be the turning point.
Two early breaks gave Andujar the advantage in the fourth set and, although Thiem claimed one of them back, the Spaniard held on to level the match.
Again, the pair swapped breaks at the start of the fifth set, but, decisively, the Austrian dropped his serve once more. Andujar seized his opportunity and served out, with Thiem able to do little to stop him in the end.

Delbonis Defeats Moldovan Easily
Whilst it took Andujar nearly four and a half hours in court to beat Thiem, Delbonis was able to advance after a much easier match with the Moldovan Radu Albot, the world 89.
The first set saw Delbonis dominate on serve breaking Albot twice, and claiming it for the loss of just one game in just half an hour.
The match then swung the other way in the second set, with the pair swapping service breaks before the Argentine dropped his once more.
Albot served for the set and, despite Delbonis creating four break opportunities, he could not convert any of them, and the match was level.
The third set, though, reverted to the pattern of the first, with Delbonis utterly dominant ion serve and the return, and it was won to love.
By this time Albot’s resistance was largely broken, and he soon found himself two breaks down in the fourth set. He briefly rallied to claim one of them back, but the reprieve was only temporary, and the Argentine closed out the match with one further break.
Andujar v Delbonis Prediction and Tip
Both men had encouraging first round wins, although of vastly different natures. Delbonis is the higher ranked player, but Andujar leads their head to head series, and will be keen to show that his win over Thiem was no flash in the pan.
