Johanna Konta v Alison Van Uytvanck Head to Head
The two ladies have met just once on the tour, back in 2012. Konta won that match 6-2, 7-6(5).

Konta Thrives on Grass as Expected
British No. 1 Johanna Konta is arriving in this game after overcoming a rather determined Ukrainian Kateryna Kozlova in the third round. The match lasted for a little over 2 hours and saw Konta take the win with 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
With this quarter-final appearance, Konta has delivered her best performance since last year’s Western and Southern Open in New York. Over there, she reached all the way to the semifinal before falling down to the Victoria Azarenka.
The 30-year-old did not have that good of a clay season so the fact that she has made it this far in Nottingham is certainly a positive sign. But then again, it was expected. The grass is one surface where Konta has generally done well. The last time she was on grass was the 2019 Wimbledon, where she had another deep run with a quarter-final appearance.
Including the French Open, the World No. 20 just played in three clay tournaments this season. Her best run came in the Madrid Open where she reached the second round. For most of 2021, she hasn’t been that active on the tour either. Before the clay swing, Konta featured in the Gippsland Trophy, the Australian Open and the Miami Open.
In all of those tournaments account and never made it past the early rounds.

Uytvanck Yet to Drop a Set in Nottingham
Alison Van Uytvanck continued her brilliant run in Nottingham with a straight-set, clinical victory over the Swiss Victoria Golubic. The match lasted for just 90 minutes and saw the Belgian win with 6-2, 7-5. In the previous match, Van Uytvanck had defeated Marina Melnikova 6-1, 6-1.
This is the first time that the number 8 seed has had such a good run since the 2020 Lyon Open, where she was a semifinalist.
The 27-year-old was on a six-match losing streak before she turned it all around here in Nottingham. Not many would have predicted her to have such a good run, let alone do it all without losing a single set. But that is not to say that Alison cannot surprise on occasions.
In the Serbia Open, she did reach the final in the women’s doubles with her Greet Minnen. However, in the rest of the singles tournament this season, the #67-ranked player has lost mainly in the early rounds.
Konta v Uytvanck Prediction and Tip
Konta is in a good form and playing on her home turf, she will be soaring with confidence. Van Uytvanck may put up a good fight here but expect the Brit to march on into the semis.
