Cameron Norrie v Albert Ramos-Vinolas Head to Head

There have been two matches on the ATP circuit and one at Davis Cup and Ramos-Vinolas has won each of the three.

The first of those ATP matches came at the 2019 Barcelona Open but more recently the pair met in the final of the Estoril Open earlier this year. Norrie put up a good fight before losing in the final set tie-breaker.

Norrie Hoping to Take 2021 Consistency into Grass

Norrie’s record on grass isn’t the strongest, but then again he has had a season to remember so far. And that includes a 16-5 win-loss record on dirt, a surface he had rarely won a match let alone possess that kind of a stat.

Barring a second round ouster at Rome, Norrie’s record on clay read a stunning quarterfinal appearance in Barcelona, final at Estoril and Lyon and third round at French Open.

And the last of those two losses came to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Rafael Nadal, which is no great shame either.

Earlier in the season, Norrie had kick-started the year with a semifinal at the Delray Beach Open and a quarterfinal in Acapculco.

Can he now kick-start things on grass with a solid showing?

Ramos-Vinolas on a Three-Match Losing Streak

Since winning his third career title at the Estoril Open, which he did by defeating Norrie in the final, Ramos-Vinolas has struggled to get going. He won the first round at Madrid but then lost three in a row on clay.

Which is bit of a surprise given he was a favourite in two of those matches.

He will now need to make that switch to grass where the Spaniard hasn’t won too much. In fact, Ramos-Vinolas’ last win on this surface came all the way back in 2017 when he reached the third round at Wimbledon.

Ramos-Vinolas will have a stiff task on his hand now that he goes up against a confident opponent, and one who has done a lot of his practice on grass too in the UK.

Norrie v Ramos-Vinolas Prediction and Tip

Ramos-Vinolas’ three-match losing streak on his favourite surface clay doesn’t bode well for him coming up against the in-form Norrie on grass. We expect Norrie to cruise through.
