Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova v Kristyna Pliskova Head to Head
There has been just one previous match between these two players and Pavlyuchenkova had defeated Pliskova in straight sets in Doha earlier this year.

Pavlyuchenkova Routs Bogdan in Opener
French Open finalist Pavlyuchenkova did not have the greatest start to the grass season earlier this month when she fell to Jelena Ostapenko in the first round at Eastbourne. But coming into Wimbledon, a tournament she had once made the quarterfinal, there was a different air to her.
The Russian came through her first round match without too much to ponder for her, registering a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ana Bogdan. The match lasted just just 58 minutes and saw break her opponent four times in the match, while not facing even one break-point in the process.
Pavlyuchenkova slammed five aces, hit 15 winners but with just eight unforced errors, there was no inch given to her 92nd-ranked opponent.
After starting out with four successive holds, Pavlyuchenkova broke two times in a row to wrap up the first set and then repeated the same from 2-2 in the second to move into the second round.
Can she now overcome Pliskova and win her first set of successive matches on grass since 2016?

Pliskova Needs Three-Setter against Lucky Loser
Astra Sharma replaced Danka Kovinic in the main draw after the latter’s withdrawal but that didn’t do much to change the result in the end as Pliskova came through her opening round match.
Pliskova, who had won just won one match at Wimbledon over the past four editions, came back from a set down to register a three-set victory. The match went on for an hour and 37 minutes.
It was a slow start for Pliskova who didn’t get any break-points in the first set and was broken by Sharma in her very first service game.
Pliskova’s comeback came after she was broken again in the first game in the second set, with the Czech breaking back in the eighth and 10th game to sneak through the equalising set.
The third set saw a similar pattern repeat itself as Pliskova lost her serve in the third game before breaking back in the eighth and 10th game again to win the encounter.
Can she show a similar fighting spirit against Pavlyuchenkova though?
Pavlyuchenkova v Pliskova Prediction and Tip
Pavlyuchenkova’s form on clay cannot really be extrapolated on to grass but up against her is an opponent who is coming off a six-match losing streak. Expect Pavlyuchenkova to ram home the advantage and win in straight sets.
