Jelena Ostapenko v Ajla Tomljanovic Head to Head
The two players met as recently as the Italian Open this season. It was their one and only meeting on the tour so far, where Ostapenko won 6-2, 7-6(3).

Ostapenko Survives Kasatkina
Jelena Ostapenko is heading in this game after beating the 31st seeded Russian Daria Kasatkina, for the second time in under 10 days. Both those games were three-setters with the one in Wimbledon proving to be far more demanding of the two.
This one went on for an hour and 47 minutes with the Latvian ultimately winning with 6-1, 3-6, 8-6.
Ostapenko, by the looks of it, is well on her way to match her current record at Wimbledon, which is reaching the semifinal in 2018. The season before, she was a quarterfinalist here and just last week, she picked up her first singles title in Eastbourne International – her first one since 2019.
This kind of a run has been long overdue for the 24-year-old, who managed to crack the top 10 before falling way down in the rankings. She has now made her way up to #34 and a win over Tomljanovic (which should prove to be comparatively easy than the Kasatkina game) will definitely propel her further.

Tomljanovic with her Best Wimbledon Performance
Ajla Tomljanovic, by reaching the third round in London, has achieved two things. First, she will walk away with the most ranking points (and prize money) from a tournament so far this season. Second, this is her best singles run on the tour since September 2019.
It wasn’t an easy match – the Aussie had to face Alize Cornet, who had just beaten Bianca Andreescu and was looking good. But the 28-year-old ended up winning the game 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 in what was largely an evenly contested affair.
This certainly a great leap for the World No. 75, whose recent results on grass include early-round defeats in Eastbourne and Birmingham. The entirety of Tomljanovic’s season is marked with such runs and on several occasions, she was beaten by players ranked in a similar spectrum as her.
Ostapenko v Tomljanovic Prediction and Tip
All signs are favourable for Ostapenko to peak on grass courts once again and carry her fine form forward. It is hard to imagine Tomljanovic defeat a player who has a well-established pedigree on grass courts.
