Aryna Sabalenka v Sloane Stephens Head to Head
Sabalenka and Stephens have been involved in just one, career, head-to-head meeting till date. The stage for the meeting was a World Group tie at the Fed Cup which the 23-year-old Belarussian won in three sets.

Sabalenka Coming off Wimbledon Semifinal
Coming into Wimbledon on the back of a decent, last-eight finish at the grass court event at Eastbourne, Sabalenka grew better and stronger as the tournament progressed.
Currently ranked third in singles, the Belarussian opened her campaign with a rout of Monica Niculescu of Romania and followed up with contrasting wins over Katie Boulter of Great Britain, Maria Camila Osorio Serrano of Colombia and Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan to book herself a slot in the quarter-finals.
Showing that her journey to the last eight wasn’t a fluke, Sabalenka tamed in-form Tunisian Ons Jabeur in the quarter-final to set a last-four showdown against seasoned Czech star Karolina Pliskova.
However, she came undone against Pliskova, going down in three sets against the Czech to see her hopes of lifting a maiden Grand Slam title go up in smoke.
Playing her first tournament since Wimbledon, Sabalenka will be eyeing a strong start in the women’s leg of the Canadian Open in Montreal.
Though recent run of results, including the title-run at the prestigious Mutua Madrid Open, does put her among the contenders for the title.
However, in Sloane Stephens, she faces a tough opponent in her tournament opener, one who has largely under-achieved but a can spring surprise on a superior rival on a good day.
The same was in evidence at Wimbledon where the American took down two-time Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova.

Stephens Labours to Win over Yastremska
Coming into the Canadian Open on the back of a disappointing third-round finish at the Silicon Valley Classic, Stephens opened her Montreal campaign with a hard-fought win over rising Ukrainian star Dayana Yastremska.
After cantering home in the opening set, the 62nd-ranked American suffered a mid-match slump to go down in the second.
However, she recovered to win the deciding set, thereby closing out a three-set win and booking a third-round clash with the big-hitting Sabalenka.
Her best chance against the Belarussian would be to meet fire with fire and try and disrupt her free-flowing power game with delectable drop shots and regular forays into the net.
Sabalenka v Stephens Prediction and Tip
Sabalenka, with her big serve and heavy groundstrokes, starts as favorite in this third-round battle but Stephens has the ability to put it past the Belarussian. While the head and heart may favor Sabalenka, an upset could well be on the cards.
Tip: Sabalenka to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
