Danielle Collins v Shelby Rogers Head to Head
They met for the first time in San Jose earlier this month, with Collins winning the Round of 32 contest in straight sets.

She had never won a WTA title before this year. Now in a span of few weeks she has won two. She claimed her maiden title on the clay court of Palermo at the end of July and followed it up by winning the San Jose title in the first week of August.
The 27-year-old earned a couple of brave wins at the Canadian Open as well, rallying to beat Jil Teichman and Simona Halep in the first two rounds, but eventually her 12-match winning streak ended with a three-set defeat to Jessica Pegula.
A 2019 Australian Open semifinalist and a French Open quarterfinalist in 2020, Collins is equally dangerous on both clay and hard surfaces. She comes into her third Cincinnati Open with a 29-10 record this year.
She is yet to register her first win in Cincinnati, having been knocked out in the opening rounds in 2018 and 2020.

Rogers On a Three-Match Losing Streak
Rogers is on a three-match losing streak. Since losing to Elena Rybakina in the third round of Wimbledon, she lost in the first round to Collins in San Jose and to Anastasia Potapova in Montreal this week.
The 28-year-old, who reached the quarterfinal of the U.S. Open last year, has struggled for consistency this year. Baring a fourth round appearance at the Australian Open and a couple of quarterfinals in Adelaide and both the Charleston events, she has struggled to go deep in most of the tournaments.
Having never gone past the qualifiers in her four previous attempts in Cincinnati, she will be making her main draw debut in the event.
