What Happened at the 2019 Rabat Open?
In the 2018 Morocco Open, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was the winner but she chose not to participate in the 2019 edition.
Instead, Maria Sakkari of Greece won the title as she defeated Johanna Konta, who was the seventh seed in the final 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. The top two seeds Mertens and Su-wei lasted till only the quarterfinals while Ajla Tomljanovic and Alison van Utyvank joined Sakkari and Konta in the semis.
Some of the players who participated in the 2018 edition of the Rabat Open included Mertens, Dominika Cibulkova, Petra Martic, Timea Babos, Zarina Diyas, Aleksandra Krunic, and Su-Wei Hsieh.
