Petra Kvitova v Ons Jabeur Head to Head
Kvitova leads Jabeur 2-0, last beating her in the 2020 WTA Doha.
Business as Usual for Kvitova
Following early-round exits in Wimbledon, Prague Open, and the Canadian Open, two-time Grand Slam winner Petra Kvitova has done well to make amends for it by reaching the third round in Cincinnati.
Starting with a straight-set win over the American Madison Keys, the 31-year-old moved on to beat Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova in round two with 6-2, 6-4.
By the looks of it, Kvitova is slowly finding the form that took her to the winners’ trophy in the Qatar Open earlier this year. That, along with a semifinal appearance in WTA Bad Homburg and a quarterfinal run in the Madrid Open were among the best runs of her season so far.
That said, her season has been slightly inconsistent and the second-round exit in the Olympics clearly didn’t help her case either.
The fact that she has fallen to lowly-ranked players like Alison Van Uytvanck, Sloane Stephens, Rebecca Sramkova, Danka Kovinic, and others in 2021 means Jabeur holds a solid chance to beat her Czech adversary.

Jabeur Enjoying Consistency on the Tour
It has been a career-defining season for Ons Jabeur. Shortly after settling for the runner-up trophy in WTA Charleston, she won the maiden singles title of her career in the Birmingham Classic – upsetting Daria Kasatkina in the final.
Additionally, the 26-year-old made it to the quarterfinal in Wimbledon and WTA Montreal; in these tournaments, Jabeur dispatched players like Venus Williams, Muguruza, Iga Swiatek, Kasatkina, and Bianca Andreescu.
Her pedigree for the 2021 WTA season is quite impressive which is only complemented by her current run in the Western & Southern Open. After surviving a three-setter against Anett Kontveit in the opener, Jabeur defeated the sixth seed Swiatek once again to make it to the third round.
A quarterfinalist in last year’s edition, Jabeur looks well set to emulate that run again and possibly, go further.
Kvitova v Jabeur Prediction and Tip
A close game to call in all regards. Kvitova will start as the odds-on favourite owing to her experience but Jabeur has been just brilliant of late.
