David Goffin v Thiago Monteiro Head to Head
The pair have played each other before in the Davis Cup five years ago, Goffin winning a five set match for the loss of just four games.

Despite winning his fifth senior ATP title in Montpellier in February, this has largely been a year to forget so far for the Belgian number one, who has dropped out of the top 20 in the world.
However, he has only played sparingly in recent months, since reaching the quarter-finals in the Monte Carlo Masters, where he beat Alexander Zverev.
In part though his progress has been hampered by the ankle injury he sustained in the grass on Halle. That caused him to miss Wimbledon and the chance to play for his country at the Olympics, and delayed his return to the tour until Cincinnati last week, where he was beaten by Guido Pella of Argentina in the first round.
He received a bye in the first round as the second seed.

Monteiro Saves Match Points and Snaps Losing Sequence
Monteiro had not won a match since losing to Steve Johnson in the second round of the French Open.
The long losing sequence that ensued took in Wimbledon, the Olympics and qualification for Cincinnati, but was ended with a tough win against James Duckworth of Australia, the world number 67, in the first round on Sunday night.
The first set was dominated by serve and there was only one break point created in it, and that was by Monteiro who took it to get his nose in front.
The pattern was repeated in the second set until the Brazilian, serving to stay in it, came under sustained pressure from the Australian. Monteiro saved three break points, but not the fourth, and the match was level.
Having saved four break points earlier in the third set, Monteiro faced crisis point in the tenth game, facing three match points on hs own serve. He dug deep, saved them all, and eventually forced a tie-break.
Under pressure, he was able to hold more than the Australian and clinched the match when Duckworth lost his serve for what proved to be the fianl time.

The outcome of this match may depend on how much Goffin continues to be troubled by his ankle injury. If he is fully recovered, then he should progress against a man who face d match points against him in his first round match.
