Marta Kostyuk v Varvara Gracheva Head to Head

World No. 56 Marta Kostyuk eased into the quarterfinal with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi in the second round on Tuesday.
Both players had nine break points in the match, with Kostyuk converting four of those chances, while saving eight of them.
The 19-year-old, playing in her first tournament since the Wimbledon, has had a great year so far, reaching two semifinals and making a Round of 16 debut at the French Open.
She will be eyeing a third semifinal spot in 2021 on Thursday, after having reached that stage in Abu Dhabi and Istanbul previously.
Kostyuk had begun her Chicago campaign with a 6-3, 6-0 rout of Canada’s Katherine Sebov in the opening round on Monday.

Gracheva Advances After Bogdan Retirement
Gracheva reached her first senior level quarterfinal of the season with a win over Ana Bogdan on Wednesday.
The Russian was leading the contest 7-5, 3-1 when the Romanian decided to quit.
Gracheva, who reached the semifinal of a WTA 125 in Saint Malo earlier this year, had broken Bogdan twice in the first set and once in the second while getting broken just once in the first.
Ranked No. 88 in the world, the Russian had upset the fourth seed Tamara Zidansek in a one-hour-and-43-minute first-round contest. Zidansek had come back strongly after losing the first set, but Gracheva dominated the third for a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win.
Kostyuk v Gracheva Prediction and Tip
Having dominated their previous contests, Kostyuk will be the favourite, but she will be wary of Gracheva’s current form. Expect a good match with the Ukrainian advancing.
