Victoria Azarenka battled past Italian Jasmine Paolini 6-3 7-6(1) in her second-round tie to keep herself alive at the US Open. The Belarusian came out on top 71% of the time when she landed the first serve and impressively won 15/15 net points, proving this was an effective tactic. 19 winners later, and Azarenka books her place in the 3rd round.
