Sasnovich Eager to Return to Top-100
Sasnovich currently sits outside the top-100 in the live rankings at 105th, despite being a former top-30 player. The Belarusian possesses a 20/18 W/L ratio for the year and has reached the last 8 on three occasions, two of these occasions on the WTA circuit in Belgrade and Cleveland.
In Belgrade, the 27-year-old battled past Wang and Busca in tough 3-set tussles, before losing in straight sets to Serrano.
In Cleveland, Sasnovich came out on top against McHale and Podoroska in the opening rounds before falling at the quarterfinal stage again, this time against Begu 6-2 6-4.
Sasnovich also made a 3rd round birth at Wimbledon, capitalising on Serena Williams having to secure from their first encounter at 3-3 in the first set and injuring her ankle on the slippery grass. In the second round, Sasnovich got the better of Hibino 6-4 7-6(4) before losing to Kerber 2-6 6-0 6-1 to end her run.

It is likely that Keys will encounter a tough battle as she tries to reach the second round of Chicago, however, her powerful groundstrokes should be too much for Sasnovich providing she does not spray a large number of unforced errors.
