Alexander Zverev v Gael Monfils Head to Head
Monfils leads the head-to-head 3-0, but the players have not met since their hard court meetings in 2015 and 2016 and Zverev has evolved manifold as a player since then.

Zverev Prevails In Battle Against Murray
In what had been a good season for Alexander Zverev, winning titles at Acupulco and Madrid, as well as making the quarters at the Aussie Open and semis at the French, things took an even better turn for him post Wimbledon.
Zverev won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, defeating Novak Djokovic en route and looked in ominous form at the Cincinnati Masters defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev in the latter stages.
Zverev was on a 16 match winning streak heading into the USOpen semi-finals where he fell short against Novak Djokovic in a five set battle.
After a successful Laver Cup, Zverev is back on the circuit looking to end the year on a high with strong showings at Indian Wells and the rest of the hard court and indoor season this month and next.
After a first round bye and a three set win against in-form rookie American Jenson Brooksby, Zverev was up against Briton veteran Andy Murray. It is never easy against the former world number one and Murray was high on confidence after a good win against Carlos Alcaraz in the previous round.
Murray was off to a quick start up 3-1 in the first set, but Zverev fought back to break and then broke again to clinch the opening set 6-4. A very evenly fought second set followed with Murray rolling back the years as the set headed to a tiebreak.
Zverev clinched the set and spot in the last 16 with a 7-4 tiebreak win, but not before Murray made it clear to the tennis world that his comeback was well and truly paving the way for many more epic performances from him.

Monfils Defeats Anderson But Challenge Stiffens
Gael Monfils was back in the final of an ATP tournament in Sofia a fortnight ago for the first time since winning the Rotterdam ATP 500 title in February 2020.
Monfils had a torrid start to the season, and was 3-10 by the end of Tokyo Olympics. However, he struck form in North America, reaching the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open, the Round of 16 in Cincinnati and the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open, winning two matches in each of the competitions before reaching the semifinals of the Moselle Open late last month.
Although he lost the final in Sofia to defending champion Jannik Sinner, the Frenchman made the rare distinction of having qualified for an ATP final for 17 consecutive years, a record only equalled or bettered by Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
It has been a good start to Indian Wells for Monfils, with straight set wins against Gianluca Mager of Italy and veteran South African Kevin Anderson. Although there were the moments where the Frenchman looked erratic he was well in control of both opponents. However he will be well aware that there will be no room for any lapses against an opponent like Zverev.
Zverev v Monfils Prediction and Tip
An entertaining match lies ahead of us, as is always the case with someone like Monfils on the court. The Frenchman has been looking to make a comeback after a tough end of last season and early part of this season.
However, at the moment Zverev is looking to be in the best form on the tour along with Medvedev, and it will be a tall order for Monfils. Expect Zverev to win in straight sets.
Tip: Zverev to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
