Ilya Ivashka v Evgeny Donskoy Head to Head
Ivashka and Donskoy are currently tied at 2-2 in their head-to-head. All four previous meetings were contested on hard courts, with three of them coming at Challenger level.

Following his run to the semifinals in Nur-Sultan, Ilya Ivashka managed to crack the ATP Top 50 for the first time in his career. Though his climb has been steady, it is refreshing to see a Challenger campaigner finally develop into a fully-fledged tour-level competitor.
Now ranked at a career-high world no. 45 ahead of his main draw debut in Moscow, Ivashka is comfortably Belarus’ top-ranked male player – well ahead of compatriot Egor Gerasimov.
Ivashka’s breakthrough on the main tour also yielded an ATP title in Winston-Salem. He beat a formidable lineup of hard courters including former US Open champion Marin Cilic, Jan-Lennard Struff, and bronze medalist Pablo Carreno Busta en route to the final.
The 27-year-old has put together a 29-15 record for the season – easily his personal best, and could very much crack the top 40 before the end of the regular tennis season.
Ivashka pulled out from his scheduled second-round match in Sofia at the end of last month for an undisclosed reason.

Donskoy Gets Wild Card
Evgeny Donskoy has played the Kremlin Cup since 2007 and missing out only in 2020 when the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was only logical that the Russian got a wild card entrant at his home tournament this year in spite of his low ranking which wouldn’t have sufficed for a main draw spot.
Donskoy is ranked 148 in the world now and has only played in the main draw of tour-level events four times prior to the Kremlin Cup. He has a single match win and five defeats to show for it.
His record in the ATP’s second-tier hasn’t been any better. Donskoy is 6-10 at the Challenger level, with half of his wins coming at the Biella Challenger where he made the semifinals in February.
The Russian famously ran Felix Auger-Aliassime very close at this year’s US Open first round, losing in four tight sets (including three tiebreak sets).
Ivashka v Donskoy Prediction and Tip
Donskoy memorably matched Felix-Auger Alissime’s intensity at the US Open and was unlucky not to pinch a 2-1 sets lead. And with consistency being a major problem for the Russian, this shouldn’t be a banana skin for the in-form Ivashka.
