Anett Kontaveit v Rebecca Peterson Head to Head
The pair have played each other before, although that was back in Stockholm ago, Kontaveit winning in straight sets.

Kontaveit Chasing a Place in Mexico
Kontaveit has every incentive to do well in this event, because she is hoping to accrue enough points to pip Ons Jabeur to the one remaining spot in the WTA Finals in Mexico.
So far, all is going to plan with three consecutive straight set victories, beginning with the Serbian qualifier Aleksandra Krunic, and then followed by the Belgian Alison van Uytvanck.
That meant a quarter-final match ion Friday with Anneline Kalinina of the Ukraine, the world number 59, and it proved to be another comfortable outing for the Estonian.
It was actually Kontaveit who was the first to drop her serve but she hit back to level straight way, and then a further break enabled her to take the set.
She was quickly two breaks up in the second set and there was no way back for the Ukrainian after that, Kontaveit sealing her passage to the semi-finals in style with another break.

Peterson Made to Work for Semi-Final Berth
It has been two years since Peterson won back to back titles in China and that was also the last time she appeared in a WTA final, although she did win a Challenger event in the USA last week.
Yet she is within touching distance of another one after her week’s work in Romania.
She began her week with a comprehensive victory over the Croat qualifier Jana Fett, whilst the local player Irina Maria Bara, offered her few challenges in their second round encounter.
The same though could not be said for the woman she met in the quarter-finals, Lesia Tsurenoko of the Ukraine, the world number 127, who had come through the qualifying competition.
Peterson began well enough, three breaks of serve enabling her to cruise through the first set.
But in a scrappy second set, which saw the pair exchange breaks twice, it was the Swede’s form who deserted her, enabling the Ukrainian to level the match.
Peterson regrouped, broke at the start of the third et and, although Tsurenko recovered that, she immediately dropped her serve again. This time there was no way back for the qualifier and she was once broken once more as Peterson pressed home her advantage.
Kontaveit v Peterson Prediction and Tip
Kontaveit knows that every ranking points she earns is precious if she wants to earn her place in Mexico, so she will be determined to make no mistakes against the Swede.
