Herbert Looks To Impress On Home Soil
Pierre-Hugues Herbert is chasing his first main draw win at tour level for more than two months. The 31-year-old Frenchman has fallen outside the world’s Top 100 and only got his slot in Paris courtesy of a wild card entrant.
Lately, the World No. 104 has played a handful of Challenger tournaments in order to summon his gumption and restore his confidence that has been torn from his lack of wins.
This is in stark contrast to the first half of the year where the big-serving Herbert reached his fourth ATP final beating a quartet of seasoned pros such as Tsitsipas, Cameron Norrie, Ugo Humbert, and Kei Nishikori en route to the final.
Herbert fell in the first round of the Brest Challenger in his most recent bout at the hands of Federico Gaio. This will be Herbert’s eighth main draw appearance at the Paris Masters. But incredibly, he has won just matches down the years.
