John Millman v Thanasi Kokkinakis Head to Head
Millman has been involved in just one career head-to-head meeting with Kokkinakis. Their only on-court meeting came in the opening round of Australia F3 Futures event in 2012. Millman won in straight sets.

Millman Begins Another Quest For a Breakthrough Season
A journeyman in the men’s circuit, Millman failed to put his name on a single Tour title last year. While he did reach the quarter-finals of St. Petersburg Open, Kremlin Cup, Sofia Open and Astana Open, among other events, the veteran Aussie star didn’t manage to progress beyond.
His latest event, the big-ticket Rolex Paris Masters last year, ended in a crushing opening-round ouster at the hands of Argentinian tennis star Diego Schwartzman.
Hoping for a big-bang start to the new season, Millman will open his Adelaide International campaign against compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis on Monday.
The Aussie won his only head-to-head clash with his fellow countryman and should fancy extending the score in the South Australian city on Monday.
While all his years on the Tour has fetched him just one career title, Millman does have the reputation in the circuit of being a wholehearted trier, someone pushes himself and leaves his all on the turf, and the attribute will hold him in good stead in his season opener against Kokkinakis.

Kokkinakis Eyes a Step-Up in Singles
For someone who turned pro in 2013, success in the singles format has eluded Kokkinakis as he still hasn’t managed to break into the top-100. Currently ranked 171 in singles, the 6’4″ Australian would look to climb the charts in the format as he begins his Adelaide International campaign against fellow countryman John Millman on Monday.
At his last event, Indian Wells Masters last year, the Australian made an early exit after losing his qualifier to Italian Matteo Violi. Despite putting up a stiff fight, the Aussie went down in three sets to see his hopes of making the main tournament draw go up in smoke.
However, he did find some success in the Challenger circuit in the run-up to the Masters, finishing runner-up to Italian Stefano Travaglia at Sibiu, Romania and reaching the quarter-final in Bucharest in the event prior.
But he is still finding his feet in the ATP circuit and would eye progress in his season opener in Adelaide.
Millman v Kokkinakis Prediction and Tip
Having come out a winner in his only head-to-head clash with Kokkinakis, Millman will hold a slight edge going into Monday’s encounter. However, with his run of wins in the Challenger circuit last year, Kokkinakis should fancy getting his own back on his fellow Australian.
