Throughout the tie, the Romanian was all over Paolini’s serve, winning 62% of points of the return and breaking 7 times, successfully converting on 7/8 occasions. Paolini was only able to hold serve once.
Ruse was able to hit 17 winners and 83% of points at the net to successfully book her spot in the second round.
