Fifth seed Serbian Filip Krajinovic continued his strong start at the Montpellier Open, where he had prevailed over rising Aussie Alexei Popyrin and French veteran Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets in consecutive matches.
Following a 2-1 record for Serbia at the ATP Cup Down Under last month and a first round loss at the Australian Open to Argentine Diego Schwartzman, this was a welcome return to winning ways for Krajinovic.
In the final eight here at Montpellier, the 2017 Paris Masters runner-up continued his good form against veteran Damir Dzumhur wrapping up another resounding straight sets win and cementing a place in the semi-finals here.
Krajinovic is in his first semi-final since his final four finish in Sofia last year. He had also featured in the final in Hamburg in 2021, finishing runner-up to Pablo Carreno Busta.

Bublik Prevails In Tight Agut Contest
Kazakh Alexander Bublik had a tight start to his campaign here at Montpellier where he prevailed in two tiebreaks in the opener with a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5) victory over the Netherlands’ Tallon Griekspoor.
This was followed by a back and forth three-setter against Frenchman doubles specialist Pierre-Hugues Herbert with Bublik prevailing and setting up a quarter-final clash against Spanish veteran and number two seed Roberto Bautista Agut.
Agut started as a clear favorite, but it was a great display of talent and determination by young Bublik against the ever so gritty Spaniard.
With both players splitting sets, it was a hard fought decider that went down to a tiebreak where the strong Bublik serve held up well to clinch the set and match 7-4 in the tiebreak.
Bublik is coming off a 35-30 season, which saw him reach two finals in Antalya and Singapore, but his losing streak in finals extended to 0-4. The Kazakh will hope for a continued strong run this weekend, and in turn perhaps a maiden ATP title.
