Belinda Bencic v Veronika Kudermetova Head to Head
The two ladies have quite a bit of rivalry between them and are currently tied at 3-3. Bencic has won their last two encounters, with the most recent win coming in the Dubai International last season.

Kudermetova Coming off a Brilliant Run
24-year-old Veronika Kudermetova arrived for her home tournament on the back of a superb start to the 2022 season.
In Melbourne Set 1, she reached the final and while she lost to Simona Halep, the Russian did take home the runner-up trophy. She followed that with a third-round exit in the Australian Open at the hands of Maria Sakkari in straight sets.
Last season, she was a finalist in two WTA 500 events – Abu Dhabi and Charleston, going the distance in the latter.
On the back of that breakthrough season, Kudermetova ascended into the top 30. Towards the end of the season, she was a quarterfinalist in Linz and reached the third round in the Indian Wells Masters and WTA Chicago. By the looks of it, she is slowly improving her play to match that of the elites on the tour.
As a doubles player, the World No. 29 was for more domineering with a couple of runner-up titles from Wimbledon and Indian Wells.

Bencic, a Former Finalist Here
Belinda Bencic has got herself quite a pedigree in St. Petersburg. In her very first appearance back in 2016, she reached the final and lost to Roberta Vinci. Four years later, she made it as far as the quarterfinal – this time losing to Maria Sakkari.
Add to this equation her previous season, it becomes quite evident that Bencic is a player worth looking out for in the competition.
Last season, she won the Olympics Gold in singles and the silver in doubles, alongside being a finalist in the Adelaide International and German Open. While the Swiss ended the year with a tally of 37-20, it was still inferior to a couple of her previous seasons.
That said, she consistently reached the quarterfinal in six of her last seven tournaments on the WTA Tour, including the US Open, Cincinnati Open, and most recently, the Sydney Classic.
Speaking of Sydney, the 24-year-old fell to Paula Badosa in a gruelling three-setter and followed it with a shocking, second-round defeat to Amanda Anisimova in the Australian Open.
Bencic v Kudermetova Prediction and Tip
Their last two meetings have stretched to three sets and there’s no reason why it may not be the case again. Bencic has a far superior pedigree but Kudermetova is in a much better form at the moment. This should prove to be an entertaining affair that can just as likely swing either way.
