Dan Evans v Egor Gerasimov Head to Head
Dan Evans and Egor Gerasimov never played against each other on the ATP Tour.

Evans Eager for Wins After Break
Dan Evans started off the year with some strong tennis in Australia nearly reaching his first final of the year at the event in Sydney. Evans was halted in the semifinal of that event by eventual champion Aslan Karatsev but it highlights a good start for Evans who has high expectations in 2022.
Evans went undefeated at the ATP Cup a week earlier and lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime in Melbourne. After that, Evans elected to have a break wanting to prepare as best he can for the stretch in the Persian Gulf. His first match will come in Doha against Egor Gerasimov who played much more recently than Evans.
The British player has played rather well in the Gulf before and he should be expected to win this match but it will remain to be seen what type of form he arrives in. With a 7-2 record on the year, he has been one of the more consistent performers.

Gerasimov Looking to Continue Solid Play
Egor Gerasimov is a very capable tennis player but like many of his colleagues, being consistent is something he has trouble with. That inconsistency saw him drop out of the top 100 where he certainly belongs skill-wise. Determined to change that in 2022, Gerasimov started the year rather well.
He played a lot of matches already and holds an 8-5 record which is solid. Due to his ranking, he has been handed a few tough draws to start the year and he was not able to overcome that. Most of his wins came through qualifiers at certain events with 3 consecutive 1st round losses at ATP events.
Despite that, his play has been rather solid and his confidence has been higher with each event. The draw was not too kind in Doha either but it was always going to be a process for the Belarussian who seems inspired enough to make it happen.
Evans v Gerasimov Prediction and Tip
This matchup is interesting because of a few different things. First of all, we have a clash of styles with Gerasimov playing your typical strong serve and forehand style that is very effective when he is precise. When he is not, he can start slamming the ball wide and matches tend to end quickly. Evans plays a defensive style forcing his opponent to overhit many times causing errors.
It’s a matchup where Evans has the clear advantage both in terms of skill and level in 2022. Gerasimov has a physical advantage as he played recently compared to Evans who last played on January 22nd. It will take some time for th Briton to find his rhythm and therein lies the danger for him.
He is good enough to find a win even if he starts the match slow as his type of play is the exact style with which Gerasimov struggles the most. The conditions should also help Evans a bit more as he traditionally has played better outdoors than Gerasimov.
Tip: Evans to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
