Roberto Bautista Agut v Andy Murray Head to Head
Andy Murray leads 3-1 head to head, but all three of his wins came during his heydays. It was the Spaniard who won their most recent matchup at the Australian Open in 2019.

Roberto Bautista Agut loves playing in Doha and a 9-2 record testifies that. The Spaniard won the Qatar Open title by defeating Tomas Berdych in the final in 2019 and reached the final a second time last year, only to finish runner-up to Georgia’s Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Seeded second this year, he begins his campaign on Wednesday with an aim to put up another impressive performance in what is his fourth appearance in Doha.
The World No. 16 has produced decent results so far this year. He went 4-1 at the ATP Cup, taking Spain to another final but they finished second after losing to Canada. Bautista Agut then reached the third round at the Australian Open and the quarterfinal in Montpellier, thus bringing a 7-3 record to Doha.
A nine-time champion on the tour, the 33-year-old hasn’t won a title since winning in Qatar in 2019. He did reach two finals last year, in Montpellier and Doha, but couldn’t bag a 10th title. Can he get to No. 10 in Doha this year?

Murray Gets Daniel Revenge
Andy Murray got his Australian Open revenge over Taro Daniel, as the Scot brushed aside the Japanese in straight sets on Tuesday.
Murray, who was stunned by Daniel in the second round of the opening major, needed just an hour and 21 minutes to dispatch the Japanese 6-2, 6-2. A two-time champion and two-time runner-up in Doha, Murray improved his record to 20-3 in the tournament.
The former No. 1 looked in no trouble in the first set, as he broke the World No. 110 twice to seal the set. He was broken in the first game of the second set, but he responded immediately, getting the break back and then building on the lead by winning four successive games. Murray broke Daniel a third time in the last game and comfortably moved into the second round.
Currently ranked No. 87 in the world, Murray won back-to-back titles in Doha by defeating Stan Wawrnika in the final in 2008 and Andy Roddick in 2009. He was also a finalist in 2007 but finished runner-up to Ivan Ljubicic.
The 34-year-old reached a fourth final in Qatar in 2017 only to finish second behind Novak Djokovic.
He came to Qatar with a 6-4 record this year, which includes a run to the final in Sydney.
