Karen Khachanov v Marin Cilic Head to Head
There have been three matches between these two players and Cilic leads 2-1 on head to head.
This includes wins at the Cincinnati Masters in 2018 and the St. Petersburg Open last year but Khachanov pulled one back in Adelaide earlier this year to make it to the final of that event.

After having gotten past McDonald Mackenzie in the first round, Khachanov overcame a slow start to complete a straight-set win over Emil Ruusuvuori in the second to set up this Cilic meeting.
In a match which lasted an hour and 32 minutes, Khachanov was a 7-6 (4), 6-3 winner over Ruusuvuori on Wednesday.
After losing his serve in the second game of the match and falling 0-3 behind, Khachanov retaliated with a break of his own in the fifth game. There was no looking back from there on for the Russian as he pushed the set into a tie-breaker and took a 3-0 lead of his own.
And while he missed out on a couple of set-points, Khachanov closed out the set and later on, the match, with a decisive break in the eighth game of the second set.

Cilic Gets Past Van De Zandschulp
Cilic had a tricky second round opponent in the form of Botic Van De Zandschulp but he managed a straight-set win in an hour and 43 minutes.
Slamming six aces, Cilic won 70% of his first serve points and 60% of the second serve ones (to his opponent’s mere 33%), to complete a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
And while Cilic faced six break-points, he was broken just once as compared to the three breaks of serve he managed of the 11 break-points he had.
Earlier in the tournament, Cilic had a first round bye, and was coming into with a fourth round appearance at the Australian Open under his belt. Can he now overcome a tricky opponent and avenge his Adelaide International defeat?

This could end up becoming a very close encounter but one which could see Khachanov edge his opponent out having also beaten him earlier this year.
