Federico Delbonis v Thiago Monteiro Head to Head
Delbonis leads 1-0, having won their only tour-level matchup at Belgrade-2 last year.
When one includes qualifying rounds and the Challenger Tour, Delbinis leads 4-1 head to head.

World No. 37 Federico Delbonis is 6-6 overall and 3-3 on clay this season.
The 31-year-old has a pretty good 5-2 record in Chile, having featured in the tournament over the last two years. He was a quarterfinalist in 2020 and reached the semifinals last year, but was prevented from reaching the final by compatriot Facundo Bagnis.
A two-time champion on the tour, Delbonis reached the semifinals in Buenos Aires earlier this month, defeating Juan Martin del Potro, Pablo Andujar and Fabio Fognini en route. He was stopped from reaching a fourth career final by Casper Ruud.
Barring that run to the final four at the Argentina Open, Delbonis has had quiet season so far. He was 2-3 on the hard courts of Australia, with the two wins coming at the ATP Cup against much lower ranked players. During the South American clay season, Delbonis lost in the opening round in Cordoba, going down to Carlos Taberner and most recently, he fell in the second round in Rio to Carlos Alacaraz.

Monteiro Knocks Out Jarry
World No. 107 Thiago Monteiro moved into the second round of the Chile Open with a 7-6 (11-9), 6-4 win over local hope Nicolas Jarry.
The Brazilian, didn’t face a break point in the match but had five opportunities to break his opponent and he took one of those chances to get the win in an hour and 46 minutes.
With the win Monteiro improved his season record to 6-6 and his clay record to 3-3 in 2022. The 27-year-old lefty lost in the opening round in Cordoba, but won the opening rounds in Buenos Aires and Rio, defeating Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Sebastian Baez respectively. He was however stopped from reaching the quarters by Fernando Verdasco in Argentina and Matteo Berrettini in Brazil.
Monteiro looked good on hard courts of Australia, reaching the quarterfinals of Adelaide 2 as a qualifier, and stretching Benoit Paire to five sets before losing the Australian Open opener.
A solid clay court player, Monteiro was a quarterfinalist in Santiago in his only other appearance in the tournament in 2020.
Delbonis v Monteiro Prediction and Tip
Delbonis has dominated the rivalry at all levels. He is the third seed and the higher ranked player and will be expected to advance to another quarterfinal in Santiago.
