Sorribes-Tormo Looking to Improve California Record
Sorribes-Tormo was given a first round bye in Indian Wells thanks to her seeding, although her record here is a mediocre one, and she has never progressed beyond the second round.
The Spaniard made a career breakthrough last year, winning her first senior WTA career title in Mexico last March, and then went on to reach the quarter-finals in Miami, breaking into the top fifty for the first time.
She was later to dump Ashleigh Barty out of the Tokyo Olympics.
This year, having reached the second round of the Melbourne Summer Set and again of the Australian Open, she showed again how she likes playing in Mexico by reaching successive quarter-finals in Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Juvan Making Indian Wells Debut
Juvan is making her first appearance in Indian Wells, although she is not unfamiliar with big tournaments. She reached the third ro8ud of the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2021, and, more recently, came through qualifying, to reach the second round in Doha last month.
Forced to enter the qualifying competition in California, she first beat Tatjana Maria of Germany and then progressed past Lesla Tsurenko, after the Ukrainian was forced to retire injured.
That earned her a first round tie against Oceane Dodin of France, the world number 95, in a match where holding serve proved to be a tough challenge for both women.
There were no fewer than seven breaks in the first set, and a further six in the second.
However, it was Juvan who was able to hold her nerve the better, and she completed a straight sets victory.
Sorribes-Tormo v Juvan Prediction and Tip
Sorribes-Tormo does not have a good record in Indian Wells, but she has a good chance of reaching the third round for the first time against the qualifier who stumbled through to this stage of the competition.
