Tsitsipas was a whopping 1/6 to win his second round match against Jack Sock but the manner of his win suggested anything but that kind of a difference between the two players.
In a match lasting two hours and 37 minutes, Tsitsipas failed to break Sock even once in the entire encounter, while himself getting broken one time and yet, came away a winner, albeit a tad fortunately.
He registered a 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (5) win, with Tsitsipas wasting five break-points in the process but using all his experience to come through in two cagey tie-breakers. The Greek number one converted the second set-point he got in the first set and the first match-point in the third to complete the victory.
What he would want is to up the ante against a player who is one of the upcoming players in the world of tennis and could hold a few aces of his own.

Brooksby Routs Khachanov
There wasn’t much to choose between the two players but the manner in which Brooksby demolished Karen Khachanov should sound a warning for Tsitsipas and the remaining players on the tour.
Brooksby was clinical in his 6-0, 6-3 whitewash of Khachanov in a match lasting an hour and 19 minutes with four breaks of serves punctuating his victory. In return, Khachanov had four break-points but failed to get himself even one break.
It was Brooksby’s solid serving that took him home, with the American winning 75% of his first serve points and nearly 60% of the second serve.
Earlier in the tournament, the American had beaten Roberto Carballes Baena 6-1, 6-4 but to have dished out an even better result against a player ranked higher than him would be a major shot in the arm.
