Casper Ruud v Alexander Bublik Head to Head
They four times before with Ruud winning three of those. The most recent one came in the Davis Cup a couple of weeks ago where Ruud pulled out a huge win 6-4 5-7 6-4.

Casper Ruud did not open this year in a fabulous fashion. He missed the Australian summer due to injury but returned on the South American clay. There he steamrolled everybody en route to yet another clay title. In Indian Wells, he ran into a red-hot Nick Kyrgios who defeated him in straight sets before arriving in Miami in shaky form.
The first match here against Henri Laaksonen was good as he was able to keep it in two. His next opponent will be a familiar face whom he bested a couple of times in the best. Against Bublik, Ruud has a 3-1 score with two of those coming last year. Their most recent hard court match happened not long ago Bublik pulling out the win.
The courts generally play to Ruud’s advantage but he will need to be very precise on his serve to keep Bublik away from any break points. The player from Kazakhstan certainly won’t shy away from trying all sorts of tricks to win the match.

Bublik Doing Bublik Things
Alexander Bublik is 9-6 on the year and that’s pretty solid from the Kazakhstani player. He’s playing his typical all-out tennis that sometimes works and sometimes it doesn’t. In Miami, he faced stiff competition from Daniel Galan and the Colombian almost won that match.
It’s clear that the conditions don’t really suit Bublik all that much as the slow courts tend to drag out rallies and he hates it. It also doesn’t allow him to attack as fiercely as he would like to, making him resort to outsmarting his competition which he is able to do but generally tends to avoid it.
It’s going to be a very tricky matchup against Ruud who will love the conditions a lot more. Whether he can do anything to make his chance higher, find out below.
Ruud v Bublik Prediction and Tip
Casper Ruud leads the H2H 3-1 against Bublik and while the final match was won by BUblik it’s was more of an aberration than anything else. They play a very contrasting style of play with Sasha loving the faster courts more than Ruud.
In Miami, the advantage will be clearly on Ruud’s side but there are some things he will need to do in order to win. Bublik will certainly try to attack his opponent a lot, similarly to what he did in their most recent match, and it could get dicey if Ruud becomes too passive.
In Oslo, he was at times and that simply did not work. The serve will be key for both as it will give them the chance to win points more easily and that’s always important. All things considered, I’d be quite shocked if Ruud does not emerge victorious in this one.
