Veronika Kudermetova v Petra Kvitova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and both of them were won by Kvitova. Both matches came about in 2021, with Kvitova triumphing in Madrid and Cincinnati.

After getting an opening round bye, Kudermetova has had a couple of easy wins leading up to her fourth round match against Kvitova.
The world number 23, who has a couple of career WTA titles under her belt already, defeated Shelby Rogers 6-1, 7-5 to march into the round of 16 with the match lasting an hour and 29 minutes in the process.
Kudermetova broke her opponent five times in the match, as she raced off to a 5-0 lead in the first set and it was only in the sixth game that Rogers finally managed to pull one break back. The Russian broke back to wrap up the set.
In the second, neither player was able to get past the other’s serve, with both saving one break-point apiece.
It was when Rogers was serving to stay in the match at 5-6 that Kudermetova got herself two opportunities to finish off the encounter and won it off the second.

Kvitova Overcomes Davis
Kvitova has never made it past the quarterfinal in Miami in her long and illustrious career and she would be looking to take this opportunity to break that hoodoo.
Because in her third round win over Lauren Davis, Kvitova showed some of her old spark, helping herself to a 7-5, 6-1 win over the American.
Having needed a three-setter against Clara Burel in the previous round following an opening bye, Kvitova was on court for an hour and 23 minutes to proceed to the fourth round.
And while she was broken thrice on serve, Kvitova managed to get past her opponent’s serve six times from the eight chances she got.
The difference between the two players proved to be Kvitova’s better second serving, with the Czech winning 48% of those points to her opponent’s 26%. Can she now get going in her round four match against a higher-ranked opponent?
Kudermetova v Kvitova Prediction and Tip
While Kudermetova’s a higher-ranked player and has shown better form in recent times than Kvitova, the Czech’s past record against her will play a part. Expect a close contest with Kudermetova edging her opponent out.
