Jessica Pegula v Anhelina Kalinina Head to Head
There has been just one previous meeting at the highest level between these two players, with Pegula defeating Kalinina at the Australian Open played earlier this year. That said, it was a gruelling match which saw Pegula needing to come back from a set down and needing a tie-breaker after that to complete the victory.

After having coming into this tournament on the back of a 7-6 win-loss record for the season, Pegula looks to have found some rhythm in Miami.
A 6-1, 6-4 drubbing of Sloane Stephens in the second round following an opening bye, was followed by another easy win over Elena Rybakina in her third round encounter.
In a match lasting an hour and 22 minutes, Pegula came away a 6-3, 6-4 winner to seal her fourth round berth against Kalinina.
Showing a clinical display, Pegula helped herself to three break-points in the encounter and broke her opponent every single time while saving three of the four she faced. And the only time she did lose her serve was when she was 4-0 up in the first set.

Kalinina Continues to Score Fighting Wins
In what was a first for her season, Kalinina registered her third successive win to reach the fourth round in Miami.
Having struggled to get past the second round in the four previous competitions she had participated in before this, Kalinina sealed off another three-setter – her third in a row – to ensure her best ever performance in WTA 1000 or bigger tournaments.
After defeating Ekaterine Gorgodze and Madison Keys in the first two rounds here, Kalinina overcame the deficit of the first set against Beatriz Haddad Maia before winning in two hours and 31 minutes.
In the end the difference between the two players was minimal, with fine margins differentiating the two. Can she continue to show similar fighting spirit against her higher-pedigreed opponent as well?
