Naomi Osaka v Alison Riske Head to Head
It’s 1-1 from their two meetings, which includes a qualifying round in Madrid, which the American won in 2016. Osaka won their tour meeting in Beijing in 2019.

Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka is just one win away from matching her best Miami Open result, which was a quarterfinal appearance last year. The World No. 77 moved into the last 16 after receiving a walkover from the Czech Republic’s Karolína Muchová, who withdrew from the tournament with an abdominal injury.
The Japanese, who was beaten in the third round of the Australian Open and the second round in Indian Wells, had scored two solid wins to start the tournament. She defeated Australia’s Astra Sharma 6-3, 6-4 in the first round and then eliminated the 13th seed Angelique Kerber in the second.
In both the wins, Osaka wasn’t broken once by her opponents. She was also very good with her serve in both the matches, dropping just eight points on her serve against Sharma and 13 against Kerber. She also won 93% points on her first serve in the first round and 89% points on the back of the first delivery against Kerber.
Having got into a good rhythm in Miami, Osaka could be making her way back to the top of the rankings.

Riske Holds Off Li
Alison Riske has reached the fourth round in Miami for the first time in her sixth try.
The American, ranked No. 50 in the world, held off compatriot Ann Li in a three-set win in the third round. In a first set that saw six breaks of serve, Riske broke her opponent four times to go one-set up. Riske also started the second with a break, but Li took charge from that point on, breaking Li twice in the set to force the decider.
Riske started the third set strongly, winning the first three games, only to see Li get the break back in the seventh game. Riske restored her one-break advantage in the next game and then held on for a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory.
A finalist in Adelaide-2 at the start of the season, Riske has looked good in Miami, beginning the tournament with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 win over Jil Teichman and then dispatching the 31st seed Alize Cornet 6-2, 6-2 in the second round. How far can she go in Miami?
Osaka v Riske Prediction and Tip
Given Riske’s form she should challenge Osaka, but eventually the Japanese should come out on top.
