Albert Ramos-Vinolas v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head

A finalist in Morocco in 2012, Albert Ramos-Vinolas has a 7-7 record in the tournament. He is 2-4 ever since the tournament moved from Casablanca to Marrakech.
The 34-year-old clay court specialist had a terrific South American clay season, winning the Cordoba Open title by beating Alejandro Tabilo in the final and reaching the semifinals of the Santiago Open before falling to Sebastian Baez.
Most recently the Spaniard featured in Miami, making a first round exit after going down in three against Sebastian Korda.
A four-time champion and seven-time tour-level finalist, Ramos-Vinolas has played his best tennis on clay throughout his career. Bringing an 8-5 season record to the tournament, the left-hander will be hoping to improve that over the next two months as the action shifts to red dirt.

Musetti Will Hope to Start Well
Lorenzo Musetti has slid down the rankings this year, but he will be looking to climb back into the top 60. Currently ranked World No. 76, the 20-year-old brings a 6-6 record to Marrakech.
A semifinalist in Acapulco last year, Musetti had a pretty good clay season in 2021, reaching the fourth round of the French Open and the final four in Lyon.
Overall, Musetti is 16-10 on clay in his young career.
This year, Musetti has only appeared on hard courts, reaching the quarterfinals in Pune and Rotterdam. Most recently he was knocked out by Alexei Popyrin in the first round in Miami.
Musetti’s best moment this season was a tough three set win over then No. 11 Hubert Hurkacz in Rotterdam. He will be hoping to make a strong debut in Marrakech on a court where he has produced some of his best results.

It’s going to be a very close contest. Ramos-Vinolas having already played a lot on clay this year will hold the edge. Expect a tight three-setter, with the Spaniard edging through.
