Sebastian Korda v Botic van de Zandschulp Head to Head

There has been one previous meeting between these two players and it came at the 2021 St. Petersburg Open. van de Zandschulp won it in straight sets.

Korda Hoping for Better Form on Clay

While Korda has shown all the signs of being a player to watch out in the future, his season could have been a lot better so far.

Having played 13 matches this year in 2022, Korda’s won eight and his best performances came at the Australian Open and Miami Masters, where he reached the third round apiece.

A first round defeat in Acapulco did not help matters obviously, and nor did a quarterfinal loss to Cameron Norrie in Acapulco. At Indian Wells, Korda was sent out in the second round but that came at the hands of Rafael Nadal.

Korda will now hope he can do better on clay than he has on hard court surfaces but also better than he did last season on red dirt. In 2021, Korda did win a title on that surface in Parma but other than that was 1-5 there.

Quarterfinal for van de Zandschulp in Marrakesh

Kick-starting his clay court campaign for the season last week in Marrakesh, van de Zandschulp went on to win a couple of rounds before bowing out at the quarterfinal stage of that competition.

The Dutchman, who had improved to his career-best ranking of 42nd in the world earlier this season, was stretched to three sets by Hugo Dellien in the first round there before easing past Vit Kopriva in the second.

van de Zandschulp’s defeat at the hands of Alex Molcan was bit of a surprise having gone into the encounter as a narrow favourite.

Clay, however, continues to remain van de Zandschulp’s favourite surface, having won 24 of the 35 matches he played on it last season across the ATP and Challenger circuits.

Can he pull one over Korda?

Korda v van de Zandschulp Prediction and Tip

While Korda starts off a favourite here, van de Zandschulp’s experience on clay could come handy and he can be expected it to take it to a third set here.
