Hubert Hurkacz v Gael Monfils Head to Head
The players met twice in 2019 with Monfils winning on the hard courts in Canada and Hurkacz later the same year on the hard courts of Shanghai.

Pole Hubert Hurkacz has had a strong run in the last year, winning the 2021 Miami Open Masters 1000, making the semi-finals of Wimbledon defeating Roger Federer en route as well as reaching a career high ATP ranking of 9 by year end.
It has been another good run in the early part of the season for Hurkacz being a semi-finalist in Miami, as well as winning the doubles title along with John Isner.
However, the Pole is now moving to the clay swing, a surface that is not particularly to his liking and where he did not have the best of runs last season.
During the 2021 clay swing, Hurkacz only won one match at Monte Carlo and was eliminated in the first round at Madrid, Rome and at the French Open.
The Pole will be looking to improve his clay record this time around and no better way than to start well at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000.

Monfils Hopes To Continue Form on Clay
Former top ten and crowd favorite globally, Frenchman Gael Monfils had a difficult late 2020- early 2021 season. His poor run of form saw him break into tears asking for mercy after his first round loss at the Australian Open in 2021, which marked six consecutive opening round losses for the Frenchman.
2022 was off to a different start for Monfils with him winning the Adelaide ATP 250 and making the last eight of the Aussie Open before losing out to Matteo Berrettini in a five-setter.
Monfils followed it with a good run at Indian Wells where he defeated top seed and world number two Daniil Medvedev before losing out to rising Spaniard teenager Carlos Alcaraz.
The Frenchman has a game well suited to clay and has also been a semi-finalist at Roland Garros. He will be looking to a good run on the slower surface and hoping to start well here this week.
Hurkacz vs Monfils Prediction and Tip
