Marcos Giron v Federico Coria Head to Head
This will be their first meeting at the tour-level. They met once on clay in Florida at a qualifying round in 2017, with Giron winning that match in straight sets.

Marcos Giron heads to Barcelona on the back of five consecutive losses. The last time he won a tour-level match was on February 24, when he beat Pablo Carreño Busta in the round of 16 in Acapulco.
Since then he fell in the quarterfinals of the Mexican Open to Stefanos Tsitsipas and then lost four first-round matches in Indian Wells, Miami, Houston and Monte Carlos. What’s more, he hasn’t won a set in the last five matches.
Overall, Giron is 6-10 for the season, with his best being a semifinal appearance in Dallas. He doesn’t have a lot of experience on clay with hard being his favourite surface and the 28-year-old will be making his debut in Barcelona this year.
Giron’s most recent defeat came against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the round of 64 in Monte Carlos, with the Spaniard winning 7-5, 6-3.

Coria in Top Clay-Court Form
Federico Coria comes to Barcelona with a 9-8 record this season. The Argentine most recently participated in the Marrakech Open, winning against Davidovich Fokina, Mirza Bašić and Richard Gasquet before losing to David Goffin in the semifinals.
He is 8-5 on clay this season and was also a quarterfinalist in Buenos Aires and Rio.
The 30-year-old Argentine, who reached his maiden final in Bastad last year, will also be making his debut in Barcelona this season.
A clay court specialist, the World no. 55 is 27-21 overall on clay at the tour level. He has featured in 28 finals at the Challenger and Futures levels, all on clay, with a 3-5 record in finals on the Challenger Tour. His last title came in Brasilia in November last year.
