Federico Delbonis v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head
The only previous time that these two played against each other was in Geneva in 2019. That clay court meeting went in favour of Delbonis in straight sets.

Despite been ranked 34th in the world, which is one rank lower than his career-best, Delbonis hasn’t had the kind of season he would have liked for himself.
In fact it has been quite underwhelming, with the Argentine struggling to notch up any kind of wins.
Last week, he was on a five-match losing streak coming into the Monte-Carlo Masters which he finally managed to snap out with a shock win over Jaume Munar in the first round. But he followed that up with another defeat to Alexander Zverev.
On clay this year, Delbonis’ favourite surface, he has five wins to six defeats but overall, that is tempered by his 7-11 record for the season.
Can he slowly get into his groove on red dirt? His opening opponent is coming off a strong first round showing.

Fucsovics Screams Past Thompson
With a second round loss in Monte Carlo under his belt last week, Fucsovics might have been a tad disappointed but given that it came against a player of Diego Schwartzman’s pedigree, it might not have hurt that much.
Especially not so much given how well he’s come back from it to crush his opening opponent here in Barcelona.
The Hungarian registered a 6-4, 6-2 win over Jordan Thompson in a match lasting an hour and 25 minutes to march into the second round. What would have made it even more appetising for Fucsovics is the manner of victory – he did not face a single break-point in the entire encounter, and broke his opponent thrice from the 11 opportunities he got.
And while Delbonis loves his clay court play, Fucsovics will know his second round opponent hasn’t been in the best of touches in recent times. Can he take advantage of that?
