Petra Martic v Anastasia Potapova Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before at Wimbledon three years ago, Martic winning in three sets.

2019 Champion Martic Back From the Brink
Martic has happy memories of this tournament from three years ago, because it was in Istanbul that she won her only senior WTA title to date, beating the Czech Markerta Vondrousova in the final.
And now she will be harbouring hopes of another good run in Turkey after causing a minor first-round upset to knock-out the fourth seed, world number 36, Anheline Kalinina of Ukraine.
Not that seemed likely after the first set which went to Kalinina after Martic was the only player to drop her serve.
And, when she went a break down in the second set, things looked bleak for the Croat.
However, with Kalinina serving for the match. Martic found all her resolve to break back, and then broke again to level the match.
In the third set, she again went a break down, but two breaks of her own gave her the chance to serve for the match. This time it was Kalinina who refused to be beaten, saving a match point and then breaking back to take the match to a tie-break. Martic finally sealed the win with her third match point.

Potapova Beats Teenager
A former junior world number one and winner of the girls’ singles at Wimbledon, Potapova has endured her fair share of injuries in her relatively brief career, and failure to defend the points she won from last year has seen her drop out of the top 100.
Her ranking meant that she was consigned to the qualifying competition in Istanbul, where she had to beat Dea Herdzelas of Bosnia, and Andrea Lazaro Garcia of Spain, just to make the main draw.
However, the fates were then kind to her by pitting her against Nikola Bartunkova of the Czech Republic, the world number 408, who is still very green at this level.
In the first round, Bartunkova seemed out of her depth, as she dropped her serve three times enabling Potapova to claim it with ease.
And, at 5 – 1 down in the second set, the teenager seemed on the verge of a heavy defeat. But she rallied, saved two match points and got one of the breaks back, before Potapova restored order with another break, and was able to serve out.
Martic v Potapova Prediction and Tip
As a former champion, Martic will be hoping to go deep into the competition in Istanbul again, and should be too strong for the Russian qualifier.
