Novak Djokovic v Miomir Kecmanovic Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and it came at this very tournament last season. Djokovic had won that quarterfinal 6-1, 6-3 en route his semifinal appearance.

Djokovic Takes to the Distance in Opener
It was just his fifth match of the season and Djokovic looked like he was rusty. Starting out as a 3/25 favourite against fellow Serb Laslo Djere, Djokovic needed a whopping three hours and 24 minutes to get past his opponent in the second round.
Following an opening round bye, Djokovic overturned an opening set loss and a break in the second to win 2-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) to seal his last eight berth.
It was Djokovic’s struggles with his serves that saw him win just 62% of his first serve points in the first set and 41% of the second serves. This improved to 71% and 53% in the second while in the third set, he won 19 of his 23 first serve points.
What would worry Djokovic is the four breaks of serves against him in the entire match, while he himself managed just two of them. That he won the two tie-breakers was a mark of a man who knows how to battle it out.
Can he rediscover his lost rhythm following his opening ouster in Monte-Carlo?

Kecmanovic Makes it Two Straight-Setters in a Row
Having reached a career-high ranking of 38th in the world, Kecmanovic will hope to continue with his good form when he takes to court against the world number one. The Serb reached the last eight stage with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over John Millman in the second round.
In a match which went on for two hours and 15 minutes, Kecmanovic needed just one break of serve in the first set to take the early lead. And while he lost his early break advantage in the second and then fell 2-4 behind in the tie-breaker which followed, Kecmanovic completed the victory in two.
This follows his 6-0, 6-3 rout of Richard Gasquet in the first round after having made as far as the quarterfinals in Rio and Santiago on clay earlier this year.
Kecmanovic will know he hadn’t had the best of time against Djokovic last year in Belgrade but this could be a good opportunity against a player still looking to get back to his best.
Djokovic v Kecmanovic Prediction and Tip
Djokovic should be able to find a way to get past Kecmanovic despite his obvious rustiness which has been on show for a while.
