Iga Swiatek v Liudmila Samsonova Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Swiatek Upsets Raducanu

Top seed and World No. 1 Iga Swiatek extended her streak to 30-3 this season with a clinical, 6-4, 6-4 win over Emma Raducanu. It was a well-contested affair by World No. 12 but ultimately, she was no match for the Pole.

There were moments when it seemed like Raducanu could push to three sets but Swiatek, in an almost-packed Porsche Arena, dismantled the Brit to reach yet another semifinal in 2022.

The 20-year-old Pole has been absolutely sensational on the tour; she won the Sunshine Doubles – adding two more WTA 1000 titles to her collection. She also won the title in Doha and prior to that, reached the semifinal in Adelaide and the Australian Open.

In these tournaments, Swiatek has demolished several notable players like Victoria Azarenka, Leylah Fernandez, Daria Kasatkina, Maria Sakkari, Anett Kontaveit, Aryna Sabalenka, Angelique Kerber, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, and Naomi Osaka.

By the looks of it, the 2020 French Open champion is certainly geared for another Slam in Paris this season and on the way, she is likely to pick up a few more clay titles.

Samsonova Downs Local Siegemund

23-year-old Liudmila Samsonova finds herself in an intriguing affair with Iga Swiatek on Saturday and in all likelihood, she can very well put up a good fight.

The current World No. 31 is yet to drop a set in Stuttgart as she beat Chloe Paquet, Karolina Pliskova, and Laura Siegemund (7-5, 6-3) to reach her first semifinal of the season. Before this, Samsonova had to settle for early exits in Miami, Doha, Dubai, and the Australian Open. Her high points include reaching the quarterfinal in Adelaide and round four in the Indian Wells Open.

Samsonova rose to prominence only last season with her sole WTA title she conquered in the German Open. After starting the year outside the top 100, she ended it as #39. Although her resume is still slim on big wins over top players, that is something that may change over time as she picks up more experience on the tour.

Samsonova v Swiatek Prediction and Tip

Swiatek is the heavy favourite here and by far has the better chance of making it to the final. Samsonova, however, is playing some of the best clay-court tennis of her career and sailing high on confidence. She can very well trouble the Pole and give her a run for her money – but whether she can win is an entirely different scenario.

Risk takers can back Samsonova here as she does not warrant such high odds to win whereas a safe bet can be Swiatek to win.

Tip: Swiatek to win, Over 20.5: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
