Cameron Norrie v John Isner Head to Head
The pair have played each other four times before, and the current head to head record is two wins apiece.
In 2018. Norrie won on clay in Lyon, but Isner was victorious after their indoor hard court meeting in Vienna
Last year, Isner again won on the outdoor hard courts at the Cincinnati Masters, but their most recent encounter in Acapulco, two months ago, went the way of Norrie.

Norrie Shakes off Sickness to Beat Kwon
By his own admission, Norrie is happy just to be in Madrid this week, after suffering from sickness, and was definitely not at his best going into his first-round match with Soon-woo Kwon of South Korea, the world number 73.
That may have accounted for his sluggish start, as he was broken in the opening game of the match, but he recovered to break back. However, serving to stay in the first set, he had to save two break points, but then Kwon dropped his serve to love next game.
The British player needed no second invitation, and clinched the set next game.
After the first half of the second set went with serve, Norrie was the first to break in the second set, only to immediately drop his own serve again.
However, he forced two more break points on the South Korean serve, the second of which he converted, and this time he was able to serve out.

Isner Makes Winning Return to Europe
Isner, who recently finished runner-up on clay at the Houston Open, was playing his first match of the year in Europe on Sunday in his opening round match with Filip Krajinovic of Serbia, the world number 56.
And he ensured that his campaign got off to a winning start, although the match was not without its difficulties for him.
The opening exchanges of the first set were dominated by serve, but then the pair swapped breaks, before the match settled down again.
It went to a tie-break which developed into a mini-epic. Both men had set points but it was the American who made his count to claim the first set.
Krajinovic dropped his serve at the start of the second set, and that, ultimately, proved decisive. He created one break back opportunity after that, could not take it, and Isner was able to close out the match.
Norrie v Isner Prediction and Tip
Their head to-head record suggests there is little to choose between these two men, but, provided that he is fully recovered from his bout of sickness, the fact that Norrie won their only previous meeting on clay suggests he may just have the edge.
