Felix Auger-Aliassime v Cristian Garin Head to Head
The two have met thrice, all on clay, with Garin leading the Canadian 2-1.

Auger-Aliassime Looking to Regain Early Season Form
The first two months were absolutely extraordinary for Felix Auger-Aliassime, as the World No. 10 led his country to the ATP Cup title, then reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the first time before winning his first-ever tour-level title in Rotterdam after eight consecutive defeats in finals.
He had a chance of winning back-to-back titles, when he made it to the summit clash in Marseille, but finished runner-up to Andrey Rublev.
Since then, Auger-Aliassime has been plagued by inconsistency. He exited Indian Wells and Miami without winning a match and had a slow start on clay as well, winning just one match in his first two tournaments in Marrakech and Monte Carlo.
But things got a bit better in Barcelona where he reached the quarterfinals and then he made it to the last eight in Estoril as well.
Overall he brings a 19-10 season record to the tournament and a 4-4 record on clay. He had better numbers on the surface in the initial years but over the last two years he has grown as hard court player but struggled on dirt.
In Madrid, he will be playing for the third time but doesn’t have a very encouraging record, having won just one match in the previous two appearances.

Garin Topples Tiafoe
World No. 39 Cristian Garin is off to a flying start as he knocked out Frances Tiafoe in straight sets, two days after the latter finished runner-up at the Estoril Open final.
Garin was in the ascendency right from the start. He didn’t face a single break point in the first set, while he capitalised on three of seven breaking opportunities.
The Chilean was equally dominant in the second set, racing to a 5-0 lead, before the American won three games in a row to suddenly inject life into the contest. But Garin ensured there were no more slip-ups as he took the next game to seal the contest 6-1, 6-3 in 61 minutes.
Following the victory, Garin improved to 7-10 this year. He had an ordinary start to the season, but found form Houston, reaching the semifinals.
However, the strong showing in Houston was followed by successive first round exits from Belgrade and Munich, and thus the win over Tiafoe ended a three-match skid for Garin.
Last year, Garin had reached the quarterfinals in Madrid on debut and the five-time tour-level champion will hope to at least match that result again this year He is two wins away from achieving that and faces an extremely tough opponent next up.
Auger-Aliassime v Garin Prediction and Tip
This is going to be a very tight contest. Both have been inconsistent, particularly Garin, this year. But the Chilean will take confidence from his first round win. Expect three sets with Auger-Aliassime edging through.
Tip: Auger-Aliassime to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
