Felix Auger-Aliassime v Jannik Sinner Head to Head
They never played before.

Good Start in Madrid for Felix
Felix Auger-Aliassime is still not having the best of clay season considering his level at the start of the year but i’s certainly an improvement compared to last year. Last season was dreadful and this year it’s been a bit better. Some solid showings in Estoril, a good start in Madrid should give him confidence.
Cristian Garin played well in round one here and Auger-Aliassime had no issues against him beating him in two sets. He’s 5-4 on the surface which means he already has more wins on it than he did last year and there are a couple of events still remaining.
Overall he’s 20-10 on the season which again is good but there is a certain drop-off compared to the start of the season. Madrid should work for him rather well if he can hit his serve consistently. He’ll need that in this next matchup.

Improvement for Sinner
Jannik Sinner barely pulled through his first match in Madrid but now he showed much better tennis in his 2nd match. It’s important for the Italian to build up that confidence because so much fo his play is dependent of his confidence and timing.
I’m still not 100 % sure he’s fully healthy as he’s been plagued by injuries quite a bit recently which shows a certain need to improve his physicality. He does look quite fragile when you look at him on the court so keep the health thing in mind.
Overall he’s showing improvement here, he looked good in Monte-Carlo and he generally plays rather good attacking clay tennis. 5-1 on the surface this year, 10-6 last year and 19-5 on the season overall. All good numbers and he will be favoured in this matchup.
Auger-Aliassime v Sinner Prediction and Tip
So funnily enough they never played so far which is a shame because the matchup on paper looks great. Both enjoy attacking yet Sinner does it much better and more consistently. He’s also less prone to errors although both can spray them a lot.
Auger-Aliassime has the better serve in my opinion however Sinner is again more consistent. That will be crucial in this matchup because I don’t think either will play a flawless match. Both should be fresh enough and both looked rather good in the previous matches.
Sinner faced more adversity and he overcome it successfully which should bode well for him. Auger crumbled quite a few times this season already so I’ll back the Italian. He’s certainly the better clayer overall on clay and he’s been more consistent lately.
Tip: Sinner to win in straight sets: 13/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
