Aryna Sabalenka v Chloe Paquet Head to Head

Number seven seed Aryna Sabalenka may have had a rocky spell for most of 2022, but she has certainly done well to turn it around on clay courts.
She started the season as World No. 2 but has now slipped down to the 7th place in the rankings. At the beginning of the year, the 24-year-old was stunned by the likes of Rebecca Peterson, Kaja Juvan, Jasmine Paolini, Irina-Camelia Begu, and Kaia Kanepi.
On clay, however, Sabalenka staged a comeback by reaching the final in Stuttgart and the semis in Rome; in both cases, the brawny Belarusian fell to the eventual champion Iga Swiatek.
Looking at these results, it is clear that Sabalenka is not on the strongest of the grounds at the moment. Her chances of winning this match are not 100 percent but they are still better than what they would have been at the start of the season.
After all, she is a regular part of the top 10 now and has got an enviable collection of trophies – much better than Paquet’s.

Paquet in a Rut
The only thing Chloe Paquet has going on for her at the moment is the fact that she will be playing at home when she takes on Sabalenka. Apart from that, she hasn’t been in the best of the form of late.
The Frenchwoman is now on a three-match losing streak stretching across ITF Slovenia, Paris Challenger, and Morocco Open.
In WTA events, Paquet has succumbed in the opening/qualifying rounds while on the ITF Tour, she has done relatively better by reaching the semifinal in Arcadia and Croissy-Beaubourg.
As for her performance in the French Open, she has never made it beyond the second round in her career here, and in her last four appearances, she was beaten in the opener itself.
Sabalenka v Paquet Prediction and Tip
If Sabalenka were up against a player who wasn’t this out of form (or ranking in the early 100s), her prospects of bagging this win may not have been that great. But the fact that she is playing Paquet who is in a serious slump only bodes well for her.
Expect Sabalenka to breeze into round two comfortably.
